The Marshfield Cherry Blossom Festival in Marshfield Missouri will be honoring the 75th anniversary of the film, Gone With the Wind on April 26. As part of the tribute a GWTW panel will be held featuring Dr. Chris Sullivan, GWTW collector and owner of the collection featured at Scarlett on the Square GWTW museum in Marietta, GA and Anne Edwards, author of Vivien Leigh: A Biography and Road to Tara: The life of Margaret Mitchell. In addition to her published work, Miss Edwards penned an unpublished sequel to Margaret Mitchell's novel in the 1970s. The panel will be moderated by Angela Danovi, administrator of Gone With the Wind Showtimes and Olivia de Havilland ~ Lady of the Classic Cinema.

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Gone With the Wind, the 2014 Marshfield Cherry Blossom Festival will be dedicated to GWTW actresses Olivia de Havilland (Melanie Hamilton Wilkes) and Alicia Rhett (India Wilkes), former recipients of the Edwin P. Hubble Medal of Initiative, the highest honor bestowed from the city of Marshfield, Missouri. Miss de Havilland and Miss Rhett were honored along with the remaining surviving cast members of the legendary, Oscar winning film in 2012. Alicia Rhett passed away on January 3, 2014.
Frankly, My Dear: The Reel Story Behind Gone With the Wind
A class on Gone With the Wind will be available to the public through Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York and taught by author Pauline Bartel on April 26, 2014. The class, Frankly, My Dear: The REEL Story Behind Gone With the Wind, will explore Gone With the Wind'sintriguing history, including the writing and publishing of Margaret Mitchell's novel, the Hollywood frenzy of transforming the book into film, the endless months of trouble and behind-the-scenes turmoil that almost doomed Gone With the Wind to not being made at all, the Atlanta premiere, the Academy Awards, and the film's 75th anniversary in 2014.
